Our first 10 months of marriage!

Today marks ten months that we have been married. I cannot believe that it has already been ten months. For those married under a year each month is a substantial increase in your married life. Therefore each month is worth celebrating. We have had a lot of remarkable times together. I never imagined that I would enjoy being married this much. Boo has had enormous amounts of patience, kindness, love and understanding for me. I am a lucky woman!

So to Boo, I love you more than the earth, the sky and the moon.
My love for you is always in bloom.
Happy Anniversary!
Love, love, love,
Cat

The Etiquette Bell

On our way home from Seoul I discovered this "Etiquette Bell" in a bathroom at a rest stop. It is halarious, you press it while you do your business and it covers all the loud noises that may come from your stall with the sound of a tolet flushing. Finally no more cover up coughing in public bathrooms when last nights be-bim-bop with fish eggs didnt agree with you!

Another Beautiful Dog

I am getting really obsessive about taking pictures of any big dog I see, And even worse blogging them afterwards. This dog is a husky that Boo and I walk past every morning. We know that we can't get a dog while we are here because we are going back to the united states to get our master degrees in a year or so. But I now have Boo convinced that we really need a turtle. So with any luck we will be the proud parents of a turtle soon.

Snow!

In Changwon it never snows. Boo and I were really happy to wake up to snow two days ago. Although it did not last long it made the mountains surrounding our appartment look really beautiful.

Yeah for cheap clothes in Korea

I love Korea because you can go out and eat dinner somtimes for under two dollars, you can buy 20 bannanas for two dollars. You can get fresh sea food for really cheap, you can download new movies, you can barter prices down. All of that is great, but the one thing that really got to me is how freakishly expensive clothes are here. $40 for a normal t-shirt, $130 for shoes. So finally on Saturday my wise boss found a cheap, but good quality department store in Seoul for us to shop at. Three hours, a tie, dress shirt and dress pants for Boo, four shirts and one skirt and $135.00 later I left a very satisfied women. As you can see my closet is now very happy!

No More Toast Shop For Me

So all over Korea there are stores that they call tosatu shops. Basically they are sandwiches that are on normal size sliced bread that are really cheap. Only about 1,200 won (about $1.20). So I was all excited to order one yesterday. I was taking my time figuring out how to order it in Korean when a ginormous rat ran out of the store. Having lived in Hawaii I am no stranger to rats, but that rat was literally that fattest rat I have ever seen. I am pretty sure it eats about a loaf of bread a day. Needless to say I am now cured of my Tosatu addiction.

Su casa

So I have not really started decorating our apartment. I have gotten into the habit of researching cheap ways to make wall art, but have yet to go through with any of them. Our house is in the shape of a rectangle. We live on the 12th floor. There are no dryers or ovens (in most houses) in Korea. So on the balcony there is a clothes line and our washing machine. The floors are heated which makes the house get really nice and warm. It may be considered small but it is still twice the size of our apartment in Hawaii, So to us it is a mansion!

I REALLY want a dog

Since most people live in small apartments here they don't have room for dogs. So I find that when I do see a dog, that is one that can't be mistaken for a rat I gawk at it the way normal women my age gawk at babies. These puppies were really really cute. I had a hard time leaving them. One even shook my hand goodbye.

To perm or not to perm?

I was going in wanting to come out looking like Sarah Jessica Parker and hoping I would not look like a poodle. I ended up somewhere in the middle.

Theres nothing more touching than Korean stationary

I really love Korean stationary. It is really touching...well it would be if it made any sense. But it is useful, some of our grammar students can now take a break from their grammar books and just focus on fixing the gramatical errors on their notebooks.

Boo's Morning Soup

Here are pictures of Boo's soup that he made this morning. Everything looked really tasty in it except the gigantic fish head that looked like it was going to attack me!
