Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

Last week was crazy.
But it did reaffirm me that there is a Willie Nelson song for every significant thing that
happens in my life.

On Tuesday I had an appointment at my OBGYN's.
I had done a routine blood work-up the day before. Anyways when
my doctor came in he was all grim looking.

Our conversation went a little like this:
The first thing he said to me was, "I've made an appointment for tomorrow for you with Monterey's best blood and cancer specialist. Is that okay with you?"
My response, "what? why?!"
"You need to meet tomorrow with a hematologist."
"Why? I'm confused are you saying I need to have the baby tomorrow?
"No you have a condition called Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purura."
"What?!"
"Your blood platelets are dangerously low"
"What? (my mind immediately goes to worse case scenario) My friend,
she had low platelets and it was cancer, it was leukemia!"
"It on the table"
"What?! I don't understand? Do I have Cancer?"
"What you have is very dangerous. But you can just go about your day as of it
was normal."
"What? I don't understand!"
"Go about your normal day, just don't cut yourself, fall down, bump into
anything, get a bruise. But yeah you can do what ever you normally do."
"I'm so confused! Whats happening to me? Can I take my
daughter to the park? Can I go for walk? Can I play basketball with my husband?"
"I feel like your not listening to me. You have Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purura."
"What is that?! I am so confused?!"

Basically it was the worst combination ever.
An extremely hormonal lady, who is thinking she is being told she is dying and a doctor who is annoyed that the said lady is asking so many questions.
I spent the next 24 hours calling family, googling, having them google and arranging my impending death.

The next day my friend watched Ha Jyn for us and Boo took time off of work to go to my appointment with me. The first thing the blood and cancer specialist said to me was, "this is NOT cancer." I told him that my OBGYN had said it was, "On the table"
The specialist rolled his eyes and said, "That's your Doctor being political! Your chances
of having cancer are the same as everyone else."

At this point my heart rate started to beat normally for the first time in 24 hours.
The specialist was great and answered literally a list of 30 questions my family and I came up with.
He explained to me that the average person has  around 450K platelets and that my test the past had shown low around 114k, which is low but can be expected in pregnancy. But that what was worrisome is that on my most recent test, I only had 26k platelets. He explained all the new blood tests he wanted to conduct and all the possibilities of what could happen.

After the appointment Boo and I went to a lab to get more blood tests done. Even at that point I was feeling much better because the specialist had really been so great about talking over all the potential outcomes.

The next morning the specialist himself called me. He said that I do have Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purura (ITP),  and will have to take steroids until the baby is born.
He said I also have a condition that 1% of people with ITP have. Basically my blood clumps right after it is taken out of my body. So the longer my blood test sat around untested, the more my platelets group together and the lower number it showed on the tests. Out of all the outcomes the Dr. had explained this was the very best. No emergency c-section, so transfusions, no cancer!
Basically my condition should improve right after I have the baby.

I am so happy it is what it is and not something worse!

Leila and I having a, "I'm not dying" celebration pizza.
I don't know what I would do without her!
She is going to watch Ha Jyn when MynJune comes.

Today at the beach. It was a gorgeous day for a bunny cookie and a
walk on the beach.

Yesterday Ha Jyn was my mini mouse/lady bug super hero.
She protected me from monsters with her pink magic sword.
I felt VERY protected!

MynJune LaMar Son

 Introducing:
MynJune LaMar Son
손민준
Pronounced: Min June
Here is the best picture they could get of him at the last ultrasound.
From the looks of things he has a big head and will be around 8.5lbs at birth.
He is a very active and healthy baby.  I am crazy ready for him to be on the
outside as opposed to the inside.
While we are still deciding how to spell his first name, (either MynJoon or MynJune) his
middle name is for sure.
After I found out that he has a boy I was really nervous. One day I was driving home
from work and thinking about how I know nothing about raising boys,
or being a mom to a boy. While I was giving myself an anxiety attack it popped
into my head, "You are right you know nothing about having a son! But one thing is for sure, this kids
middle name is LaMar!"
My Grandpa LaMar passed away when I was two.
Here is my Salt Lake Grandpa (LaMar) and I.
While I have no memories of him while he was alive we have things in common.
We both got married on April 28th. He married my Grandma 55 years before I married Boo.
He and my Grandma went through the LDS temple on my birthday August 29th, just nine years before I was born.
Also, word has it that his last words were:, "Oh Shit!" I am about 80% confident those might be
my last words too.
 My Grandparents and I.

While we have had basic things like a crib and car seat ready for about the past two months, now we have EVERYTHING ready.
Bags are packed, clothes are washed and folded and
HaJyn's extra car seat is installed in our friend's car just in casehe wants to come early. We are READY!

Last week my friends threw me a baby shower.
I was overwhelmed at how many people came out to party
and support baby MynJoon (Sp?)! Also with the amount
of effort my friends put into the shower.

While we are not so patiently waiting for baby to come,
I am doing my best to keep HaJyn and I busy and me from going crazy.

My friend's dog that I walk once in a while.
He's the dog of my dreams!

There is a new art exhibit of painted pianos around town.
Ha Jyn and I like to venture around and try to find them.
We have found eight pianos so far.

We are also getting our spring garden in.
So far Ha Jyn's frog filled with grass has had the most successful outcome.
