The Great Staircase of China

Boo and I took an 11 Km hike on the Great wall of China. We went from Jinshaling to Simatai. It was spectacular. It was well worth the 3 hour bus ride, there weren't many tourists and most of the time we had the place to ourselves.
It was filled with steep staircases and thousands of stairs. I like
Boo's idea of putting in a long escalator parallel to the great wall. So when you get tired you can just rest on the escalator.
Even though it was the hardest hike we have ever been on, it was also the best.

Food

The food that we tried was great. It was also fairly cheap.
The only thing that I got sick from was the western style ice cream.

Yummy Squid.

There was a spectrum of egg colors there.

Like Mother, Like Daughter.

This entire meal cost less than US $3.oo

I wanted to try these, but they were to expensive.

Lost In Translation

oh thats where all the normal kids come from!

Just when I was thinking of lodging there.

I also saw a sign that said "Sex appliance shop"

Speculation Eggs

I still can't figure out what you can do in this park.

Umm an usscale restaurant providing dusk cuisine!

China!!

Tomorrow we leave for China! Thanks to the help of Mary, Destin and Lonely Planet City guide we are hoping for a great adventure!

Furniture makeover

We finally broke down and got a TV. Now I can watch all the Korean dramas I want. We found this table in the trash. After a little sanding and taking the doors off it does not look that bad. Pretty good for free.

My Mom goes extreme camping!

Yesterday was the scariest day of my life I got a call from my sister
Saying that my mom was missing! My Mom went with my Dad to Pine Valley Utah to go fishing for the afternoon. My mom decided to go for a walk around the town of Pine Valley for some exercise. She decided to try a new trail that one of the locals said went right to the reservoir where my dad was fishing. It turns out that the local man was wrong. My Mom ended up hiking up to twenty miles and than had to stop and wait under a tree until day light. Luckily she was hiking with her dog so she was not all alone. Finally after about 15 hours the search and rescue went out for a third time to look for her. One of the men decided to go further up one of the trails they had been on. He thought that there was no way my mom could have hiked that far. But sure enough he found my mom hiking back down the trail toward the reservoir. Besides a bash of embarrassment my Mom is fine!! I am so happy and relieved that she was not hurt and that God answered all of our prayers. I told my mom next time she wants to go extreme hiking to call me and I will fly from Korea to go hiking with her! After all of this it made me realize how much I love and rely on my mom, I was so incredible happy to hear that she was not hurt!

I LOVE YOU MOM!!
