More Ha Dong Adventures

Ha Dong being such a small town, has a lot
of adventures in it as well. Some of
them include:

Playing with Goats

Picking Green Tea Leaves

Four hours worth of work

May Ha Tree Orchards

Ascetic Pleasures

Does this look believable?
Family

Chatting with interesting religious leaders in
a traditional village.

This building was lined with a huge rock wall.

A close up of the wall.

Really Friendly Dogs

A new couple that Boo and I made fast friends
with.

Beautiful views.

Flat Stanley Goes to Ha Dong

Flat Stanly accompanied us Ha Dong.
My Favorite American Nephew Alex is
doing it for his school.
Stanley got to see some traditional Korean
Houses, meet some new friends, talk to pigs, rest and
have some spring flower tea. Unfortunately he also got
attacked by some dogs. Hopefully he will have
some more adventures with me.

Boo's House in Ha Dong

These are Pictures of the House that Boo grew up in. As you can see the house
has seen better days. Behind his house is a barley field, once
the barley is harvested they plant rice there. Right beyond the
rice and barley field is a river. It is really peaceful and beautiful.
Boo has a lot of good memories living there.
I want to buy this house and have Carly come and restore it!
What do you say Carly?

You can't really tell from this picture, but
his house's roof is made out of Bamboo

shoots. They take the Bamboo and mix mud with rice shoots to make
the walls and roof. It held up for a really long time.
Boo said that this kind of walls kept out the heat in the
summer and made it warm in the winter.

A Little bout of Homesickness

As I knew that this day would eventually come,
I am experiencing my first real bout of Homesickness.
The problem is that for the past Eight years I haven't lived in the
same place for more than two years. So my home is more with people
than with places. So in no particular order here are the people (and a few places)
that I dearly miss.

Spring In Changwon

Changwon Flowers are beautiful here in the
Spring. Korea is famous for it's Cherry Tree
Blossoms. They only last for about two weeks.
When the Blossoms fall of it looks like it is raining flowers.

This is outside the Public Library.
A grandma planted these to sell on the street.

These are Gay-Na-Ree Flowers.
That is also the name of the apartment that
we live in.

Boo in front of a Cherry Tree that is
about to lose it's flowers.

This flower looks like a Siamese Rose. It has one stem,
but produces a Rose on both sides. It grows
on a large bush.

These Tree Blossoms are beautiful. They also smell
a lot like Lilac Trees.
