Boo's House in Ha Dong

These are Pictures of the House that Boo grew up in. As you can see the house
has seen better days. Behind his house is a barley field, once
the barley is harvested they plant rice there. Right beyond the
rice and barley field is a river. It is really peaceful and beautiful.
Boo has a lot of good memories living there.
I want to buy this house and have Carly come and restore it!
What do you say Carly?

You can't really tell from this picture, but
his house's roof is made out of Bamboo

shoots. They take the Bamboo and mix mud with rice shoots to make
the walls and roof. It held up for a really long time.
Boo said that this kind of walls kept out the heat in the
summer and made it warm in the winter.

Whoa! It looks like the house needs a little work, does it have terra cotta tiles over the roof? One of the photos kind of looked like it. We studied bamboo roofs last semester, they are very interesting when used as insulation.
