Juny Ju Lucille Son

We got our dog on Wednesday.
She is a great dog. We originally wanted to name
her Kim Chee. But when we got her the name did not fit.
So now her name is Juny Ju (Ju-knee Ju),
Her full name is Juny Ju Lucille Son.
We went to the vet today and they said that she
cannot go outside for about a month. He said that here in Korea there are
a lot of viruses that can be harmful to puppies that don't have all of their vaccines finished.
That will be hard for her because she loves being outside.
She is a really mellow dog and loves to be around people.

She learned how to play catch yesterday!

Maybe, Hopefully!!

Boo is trying to get me this puppy for my birthday!!
We have a few wrinkles to take care of,
but with any luck she will soon be ours!!
She is a Jindo dog. I want to name her
Kimchee Lucille Son.
Lucille after my dog Lucille Cecilla who passed
away last year.
Kimchee was born on June 20th.
I think she will fit right in with us!

I could not wait!

My Birthday is coming up soon. I got a package from
Jenn and Carly. I lasted about 20 seconds before
I could not resist the urge to open it.

THANKS JENN AND CARLY!!

My new hat and sunglasses.

The only time I have ever had the real brand
and not a fake.

Annoyed to a New Level and can't help but complain...

I am the one on Blue, the Mother is the one in Red

Korean Parents are notorious for caring about their children's education.
That is just great, however sometimes it gets a little over the top. Today one of my students
Mom's called to complain that I taught her daughter the word "Cup" When the right answer was "mug". I also taught her "Nut" when it should have been "peanut".
I am thinking of going back to school and redoing my entire college education for the horrendous mistake I've made. Or maybe I can pay my student's Mother to come and teach me correct English. I just don't know if I can ever forgive myself for teaching her precious angel, nut instead of peanut. HOW CAN I LIVE WITH MYSELF NOW???!!!!!
Also another one of the Hagwon's students quit because he had been here for two and a half weeks and could not read English perfectly. I must be a horrible teacher!! Humm he must have learned Korean in under Two weeks. If I'd have known we had a future Einstein on our hands maybe I would have been able to teach him better.

What soap do you choose?

What Soap do you choose?
Korean Soap or Chinese Soap?
Please leave your reasoning in the comments!

Chinese Oily Soap

Korean Rape Soap

Korean Independance Day

To Celebrate Korean Independence Day we went to
욕 지 도 with some of our friends.
It is an Island off the South Coast of Korea.
You have to take a 90 minute boat ride to get there. It was
so nice to be with the Ocean again.

In this picture I apparently am trying to look like
my 14 year old boy cousin.

Boo, looking macho with the Ocean

A picture from when we got on the Island. We went fishing it was great. Here is what Boo
caught.

Here's me with the fish I caught.

Notice the innocent looking boy
in the background? Well that is what Satan
looks like. This kid told my husband he was going to beat
him up and tried to pee on me.
I think he won "The little Shit of the year" award
from Boo and I. We did have a two hour conversation about how
our kids will never be like him. Hum I am going
to send them on extended vacations to my sister's houses if they
do turn out like him. Our friend caught this really cool fish.

That dog is a Jindo dog. We are going to get a
Jindo dog sometime in the future.

I wanted to tell this guy that he had a large
bug on his butt, but Boo insisted that we take
a picture of him instead.

The People and the Places

The places that we saw were amazing.
But even more so were the people.
I was stunned by how polite, hospitable and
friendly all the locals were to us foreigners.
Everyone we asked for directions
went out of their way to help us.
I hope that that one man who recently
killed an American does not taint the rest of the world's
view of China and it's people.

Olympics

Unfortunately we had to go back to work the day before the
Olympics started. We still got to experience a little of the
excitement first hand.

We watched an Olympic soccer game on one of the
huge screens they put up all over Beijing.
The firework set up for the opening ceremony.
All the tin foil around the wires made it look
a little scary.

There were reporters from around the
world there. I made it a point to get in
the back ground of as many as possible.

Tienanmen square where the torch came through.

This is as close as we could get to the bird nest
with out having a security pass.

The count down clock.

I had to take this picture for my dad. Now that
softball is being taken out of the Olympics,
These guys have come to promote fishing
as the next Olympic sport. Who knows maybe
my Dad can be in the next olympics!

Art

Art is to Beijing, What Jello is to Utah
Expected, but most of the time delicious.

I am thinking of getting this tattoo.

This exhibit by Lin Tianmiao was
made with silk and human hair.

Chairman Mao on a Pony

A bracelet I bought. My students love it.

Even the Pandas are suffering!
