Our Trip to The DMZ

We went to the DMZ Zone.
It was not exactly what CNN reports make it sound like.
Something about the amusement park right along the
dividing line made it not seem all that scary.
I was however able to make about 45 Kim Jong Ill jokes.

These are all post-it notes in the last train stop in
South Korea. The post-it note messages range from
autographs, requests for peace and drawings by
small children.

Here's an amusement park right on the
dividing line. Nothing like a nice roller coaster ride!!
The idea is that North Korea will look over into South
Korea and see how much more fun it is on the other side.
Tons of people were flying Kites here as well.
This is exactly where the train stopped
during the Korean
War.
The bumper cars attached to the train have been converted
into stores and restaurants.Boo and I with North Korea in the background.

This is the bridge where over 12,000 South Korean
Prisoners of war returned to South Korea during the Korean war.
People have posted notes of hope for unification
and peace.
This display was called "The Stones
of Peace" wall. Stones were collected from
battle fields all over the world. They brought them all together
in hopes that it could become a stepping stone for
Reconciliation with North Korea.

Here is a train coming into South Korea from North Korea.
You have to get special permission to ride it.
